Courses

There is something about your teaching and studio space which makes it such a life affirming experience. Being surrounded by your inspiring work and the calm manner in which you pace the weekend makes for the perfect potting environment, I learnt so much and was actually quite proud of what I made! I’ve also missed not being surrounded by chat in three different languages this week, makes me want to try a ceramics course in Europe somewhere at some point.
You really looked after us - constant refreshments! - but also on our individual progress over the course of the weekend. Your openness about your own work and creative processes was much appreciated.

As a highly skilled practitioner after many years of experience on the international and UK ceramic scene, I have been running workshops with all ages and levels of experience since 2001, including at international ceramic schools in Europe and Australia, one to one sessions, small private groups, and individual mentoring.

Each student is treated as an individual so their own needs and ideas come to life, and according to their level of experience, whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced. Guidance is given throughout. Workshops include frequent demonstrations, some technical talk and an insight into my own making and philosophy.

The personal setting in my Harley Foundation studio at Welbeck provides a friendly and nurturing environment to enable each student to feel comfortable and get the most from their stay. You will also have a visual feast of my own work on hand to always inspire you.
